As you will see in this video below, each character has their instrument. In the show itself, there will also be voices of course. This little video is just to introduce the characters and show potential producers or collaborators how the lyrics and tunes fit together.

THE STYLE:

The characters are moving from a hyperreal style to a simpler line drawing style, which would appeal to 2 – 5 year-old children.

 

Click titles to hear the old classics like ‘One finger One Thumb’. The others have been specially composed, using a harmonica as main instrument and clicking on ‘play’ will convey how the lyrics and words go together..

Granpa Schloff will use a toy harmonica to introduce each song (his harmonica can be heard in every song listed here after the Shooz Theme, apart from the famous classics), after which the fancy (bluegrass?)arrangement can drop in, second time round or in the second verse, with the Shooz singing along.

Shooz:

Sid:
I’m a runner­­ – up and down, and everywhere around
You can hear me from afar with my pitter-patter sound. 
I run so much, I’m massively fit!
Only one speed and that’s lickety-split!

Schloff:
I’m an ExtraComfy CozyToze!
I keep them warm as everyone knows.
I’m built for comfort, not for speed!
When feet get cold, that’s what they need.

Groombie:
Well, feet must be dry no matter what!
Puddles and rain – oh, they like them a lot!

I’m brave and bold as you can get!

Mathilda:
Enough about the weather!

Gina:

But I’m a brilliant ballet dancer!

They all feel different so I’m told

Bath-time brings the steam all round

Overview

 

The Lost & Found box is where the Shooz retreat to when the preschool kids arrive for their school day. But it’s all go when the kids depart, and time for the Shooz to do something new, with Mango the goldfish as their guide.  

Using peek-a-boo and many other games, they (and their young viewers) learn about many things including colours, textures, shapes, numbers, concepts of ‘over, behind, through’ etc., everyday practical skills, one or two safety strategies (see songs) and social interactions, to mention just a few themes.
