Collage is a visual poem, putting across moods or circumstances very well. We react differently because we bring ourselves to anything we look at, but some things are universal hotlines to our emotions, like lines and the way they convey mood.
Composition
In my collages I look for relationships of line – the background flow running through the components can form a unifying shape that pulls it all together. Removing elements to prevent chaos is the other half of the work. But then suddenly it all comes together.
Collages are good for a birthday or anniversary card to celebrate someone’s life. Imagery of significant people or objects can be combined into something beautiful.
