When teaching English, visual literacy is an issue in rural areas, which affects the style of the images. 

The approach of the various publishers is different according to the background of the children they are aiming to educate. Thus: conservative, simple line drawings will be the main style for rural kids who study English as a second language. For urban kids whose first language is English, the style can be a bit more stylised.
